| Kuwaitis warned avoid business with cheat expats to curb losses |
KUWAIT CITY : Kuwaiti businessmen must be more cautious when doing business with expatriates, particularly if the expatriates run the businesses and the licence is in the name of the Kuwait, advises Arrouiah daily. The daily added a Lebanese gang recently cheated a Kuwaiti man by offering to run his supermarket and using his commercial for KD 1,400 a month It is a common practice in Kuwait that companies sell goods to other companies and supermarkets on credit. The daily added some companies sold goods to the said supermarket on credit. The gang reportedly sold the goods at half the original price and in addition did not pay the supermarket rent for six months. However, when the Kuwaiti was contacted for failing to pay the rent, he discovered the gang had disappeared and the supermarket was empty. Now the supplying companies are demanding money from the Kuwaiti because the commercial license is in his name. The daily added the boss of the gang is wanted in connection 41 offences.
