| Dust engulfs Kuwait, to last till Wednesday |
KUWAIT: Dusty weather blanketed Kuwait yesterday and the forecast for the next two days shows no sun on the horizon. A week after dust covered the country for days, the weather forecast for the country changed from partly cloudy to dusty. According to Kuwait International Airport's weather forecast, the weather will remain dusty for three more days. Yesterday, the weather in Kuwait was dusty with moderate north westerly winds.
The wind speed expected for Sunday will be 12-32 kilometers per hour (km/h), on Monday it will be 25-45 km/h, Tuesday 10-30 km/h and on Wednesday 8-28 km/h, the online weather forecast from the airport said. The weather is expected to become clear and sunny on Wednesday.
According to a representative from Kuwait Airport who declined to be named in this article because he was not authorized to talk to the press, the dust blanket yesterday was not as thick as the dust-fog a few weeks ago. He said, "The flight traffic is in normal condition today. This is evident from the departure and arrival moves shown on our website.
He reiterated that there were only slight delays which he said were quite normal. There were no flight delays caused by the weather. "This time, the dust is slow so it hasn't affected the flights," an official at the Weather Department of the Kuwait International Airport told the Kuwait Times yesterday.
